Biography
Rajkumar Rathod is an M. Tech student in Rock Mechanics and Underground Structures at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, currently in the final stage of his postgraduate program. His academic foundation is built on advanced principles of rock mechanics, underground excavation, and tunnel engineering, with a strong inclination toward analytical and numerical approaches for solving complex geotechnical problems.
His ongoing work focuses on the numerical analysis of stress distribution around underground tunnels, aiming to understand rock mass behaviour and stability under varying geological and loading conditions. He has developed strong proficiency in numerical and computational modelling using ABAQUS, ANSYS, PLAXIS, RS2 (Rocscience), and MATLAB, complemented by experience in structural analysis and design through STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and RISA, and technical drafting using AutoCAD.
In addition to research capabilities, Rajkumar possesses professional experience in project management, cost control, estimation and costing, tendering processes, contractual documentation, and stakeholder coordination. This integrated skill set enables him to effectively bridge theoretical research with practical engineering applications, contributing to the development of safe, efficient, and sustainable underground infrastructure systems.
