Rishabh Anand is a PhD Research Scholar in Geotechnical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. His doctoral research focuses on the assessment and mapping of shallow geothermal energy potential, with emphasis on subsurface characterization, borehole lithology, groundwater conditions, and the spatial variability of soil and rock properties. His work aims to integrate geological, geotechnical, hydrogeological, and thermal datasets to evaluate the feasibility of shallow geothermal systems. He completed his M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Patna, where his research involved probabilistic analysis of spatially variable soils while accounting for groundwater-level conditions and comparing deterministic and probabilistic approaches. He obtained his B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. His broader research interests include geotechnical uncertainty, subsurface modelling, geothermal energy systems, groundwater interaction, and data-driven techniques such as geostatistics and machine learning for geo-energy applications.
